Prescott, AZ (April 27, 2015) – The third day of the 2014 Whiskey Off-Road endurance mountain bike event in Prescott, AZ brought blue skies, tacky soil and near perfect conditions for some of the worlds most elite mountain bike racers to showcase their talents while in pursuit of the $40,000 equal payout cash purse.
Christoph Sauser (marathon world champion), in his debut at the Whiskey Off-Road, proved to be the dominant rider after battling all the way to a sprint finish with S Team mate Todd Wells and Canadian National Champion Derek Zandstra. Close behind was Scott-Rotor USA rider Fernando Riveros Paez finishing in a very respectable fourth place. Howard Grotts, after absolutely lighting up the formidable climb from Skull Valley to Sierra Prieta Overlook, secured the fifth podium spot finishing just a minute and half off of race leader Sauser.
Arizona Local Chloe Woodruff took the big prize in Pro women with a sprint finish over Erin Huck by just one second rounding out two very exciting pro mtb finishes.
