New Zealand DH video from Dome Valley

Lets face it, New Zealand is small. A couple of little islands in the south pacific that have more sheep than people. Its a standard opening for every Kiwi joke ever written, but when it comes to mountain biking, its hard to make jokes about the amount of top quality riders that this super green country produces. And in case you haven't been paying attention, New Zealand is quickly becoming a Major desitination for the mountain bike world. With movies featured the likes of Steve Smith and Gee Atherton ripping one of the best sections ever filmed (in my opinion) on the south Island and race organizers putting on some killer events like their own Urban Downhill and a recently completed Enduro, its easier to see how one little country starts to produce the speed merchants they do.

But New Zealand is more than that.  It's a place that has some very very cool people who know how to work hard, compete and take total pride in their country. When they have an event -no matter what the size, the city and often the country gets behind it. Take this little video as an example - it was shot by a guy who makes a living shooting weddings for the most part. This video isn't going to win any academy awards, but its better than most people shoot and I will venture to say it may be his first go at capturing the world of Downhill racing - which - when you are a one man show is a ton of work. So without further ramblings, here is Thomas Falconer's three minute edit of the final race of the New Zealand DH season at Dome Valley.

If Thomas is like the riders in New Zealand, he will probably one day be a top movie maker...
